Emily Singer joined the WTC through her work with spiritual organizations and communities around issues of inclusion and diversity. Trained in teaching adult learners through participatory methods, Emily has taught English and literacy to unionized service employees in hospitals and manufacturing facilities, and coordinated federal grants developing career ladder programs for health care paraprofessionals. Since 1998, Emily has worked in the Boston Public Schools on programs that increase access to higher education for low-income youth and their families. Emily is a long-time meditator, a teacher of meditation, and yoga practitioner. She is inspired by children, nature, poetry, and those who nurture justice and compassion. Her favorite past-times include growing morning glories, and walking outdoors with her partner and their dog.
